IRCPop Privacy & Rules

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026. IRCPop is disposable chat. Here is what we keep.

What We Store

  • Username and hashed password.
  • Chat messages in a rolling buffer (cleared regularly).
  • IP address unless Do Not Track is enabled at signup.
  • Session cookies for auth and CSRF only.
  • Reports and moderation actions.
  • Mailbox messages from system or admin.
  • Browser fingerprint data (canvas hash, user agent, screen info) for abuse prevention.
  • VPN detection status based on your IP address at connection time.

Do Not Track

If DNT is enabled at signup, your IP is never written to disk and is excluded from fingerprint records. DNT accounts are locked to Unfiltered mode.

Fingerprinting & Abuse Prevention

We collect a browser fingerprint (canvas rendering, user agent, screen resolution, timezone) to detect ban evasion and abuse. This data is only visible to administrators and is used solely for platform safety. It is not sold or shared with third parties.

Messages

Messages are not kept forever. The buffer rotates. Report snapshots are cleaned on a 90-day schedule.

Cookies

Auth and CSRF cookies only. No ads, no analytics, no third-party trackers.

Data Deletion

Use the Feedback form and select "Data Removal" to request account deletion. We hold logs for 14 days post-deletion for compliance.

Retention

  • Messages: rolling buffer
  • Report snapshots: 90 days
  • Recovery keys: hash stored, plaintext shown once
  • Accounts: until removal request or admin action
